Join us for a Day Trip in 2018

We are pleased bring you our 2018 programme of Day Tours. We have tried to include a variety of days out and Seasonal Trips – we hope you will find something of interest and you can join us for a day away.

We will continue to offer pick ups in Backwell, Nailsea, Portishead & Clevedon. Please see details below of pick up points and times. All tours will depart at the same time. (Except where marked otherwise – Our office will confirm times).

Bookings can be made by telephone – Monday to Friday from 10am to 12noon only, or by email. Seats can be booked with our staff and payments can be made by cheque or cash on the day of the trip. All seats are one price. All entrance charges are included.

We intend to operate trips using our 35 seater coach, but if numbers booked for trips are less, we may operate on a smaller vehicle. All are modern coaches and midicoaches with full air conditioning etc.

Groups – If you have a group of 8 or more people wishing to travel, we can arrange a pick up to suit you. Please ask our staff for details.

Cancellations – We would appreciate as much notice as possible if you wish to cancel a trip. If you have to cancel 5 days or less, before the trip, we are sorry but we have to make a cancellation charge. This will be the full cost of the tour. Should your cancellation be received, prior to the 5 days but after we have paid any entrance charges, we will have to make a Cancellation Charge to you to cover the entrances.

This morning we visit Tredgar House, one of the architectural wonders of Wales and one of the most significant late 17th century houses in the British Isles, set in 90 acres of beautiful gardens and parklands.

A fascinating visit to the unique Llancaiach Fawr Manor. This superbly restored grade 1 listed gentry manor house is no ordinary heritage attraction. History here is tangible. The costumed servants of the house are living and working in 1645 and allow you to share and engage in their world. In the afternoon we visit St Fagans – The National Museum of History where we enjoy a walk around Wales – from Celtic times to the present day. The museum stands in the grounds of the magnificent St Fagans Castle and gardens, Since 1948 over forty original buildings from different historical periods have been re-erected in the 100-acre parkland, among them houses, a farm, a school, a chapel and a splendid Workmen’s Institute. Thur 16th Isle of Purbeck – Swanage Railway and Swanage

Steam through Dorset’s Isle of Purbeck on a nostalgic journey on the Swanage Railway. We travel through beautiful countryside with stunning views of the iconic remains of William the Conqueror’s Corfe Castle to Swanage. Here you will have time to explore the town, beaches and pier at your leisure, before returning to Norden Station by train late afternoon.

We visit Windsor first today, allowing time to explore and maybe get lunch. In the afternoon join us for a 1 1/4 hour guided tour of Frogmore House. Thur 30th River Dart Tour – River Cruise and Steam Train & Dartmouth Royal Regatta.

We travel to Totnes where we join the boat for our 1½ hour River Dart Cruise to Dartmouth. Free time to explore Dartmouth. Ferry across the river to Kingswear and board the Steam Train to Paignton to rejoin our coach.

As our visit coinsides with Dartmouth Regatta it will be busy in Darmouth, so you may like to consider taking a packed lunch.

Fri 7th Dunster by Candlelight (Evening)

Join us for a Seasonal visit to the charming medieval village of Dunster, overlooked by its impressive castle. Enjoy the Lantern Lighting Procession, which marks the beginning of the festival at 6.30pm on the Friday.

The procession starts at The Steep and continues through the village until all the lanterns in the streets have been lit. The procession is accompanied by colourful (and tall!) Stilt walkers in fantastic costumes who put up the lanterns.

Plenty of festive entertainment, including Carol Singers, Morris Dancers and Hand Bell ringers to enjoy, and the local businesses and stalls will be open for late night shopping. We will leave our area in the afternoon and return late evening.

Our coach will drop off in Dunster. At the end of the evening we join a shuttle bus to Minehead where we meet our coach for the journey home – the cost is included. A programme of Events is also included. As Dunster is usually very busy – can we suggest if you want a meal that you book in advance. We hope to arrive in Dunster about 5.30pm and depart 9pm.
